Nuts

The nut hand, or the nuts, is the best possible hand at the particular moment. For example, if the flop in hold'em is 3♠ 8♥ 4♠ 5♦ Q♠ and you have A♠ K♠, your ace-high flush is the nuts. Terms such as "nut flush" or "nut straight" may be used to refer to the strongest hand possible in a particular category, even though it may not be the nut hand overall.
